“Spring tastes of longing”… so sang the Polish singer Małgorzata Ostrowska in a hit from a few years ago. Whether we are waiting for spring as for bike-season or nostalgically remembering the madness on white slopes, we know that spring is like a mademoiselle. You pay attention to her and simply cannot walk past unmoved. For us, spring tastes of earth and is a time when we come back to the joy of cycling. What do you feel in spring?
Is it excitement?
Mid-March is a time when we get thrills down the spine out of eager looking into the future. Sometimes it’s a new love, a new job, or more wonderfully a new bike. The feeling whether “it I’ll make it” or “when at last?”. When the cherries blossom in April there will be no doubt – you can go on a bike trip in Poland, from Krakow to Ojcow or around the Tatras. Or focus on the new love. 😉 Anyway, excitement will turn into well-deserved satisfaction by the encouragement of greenery and hiss of bicycle-tyres on the asphalt. Hey Spring and the Undiscovered – welcome!

Or maybe you miss your comfy shoes?
We also know the spring thoughts full of longing (Ostrowska again!) for winter silence and home entertainement. If we think now that we will be back from a trip wet with chilly rain, we look straight to the couch…The famous Margaret Atwood comes with a line of help this time. She reminds that whether you work in a garden or speed on bike trails, you s h o u l d smell of dirt and earth. It’s primeval. It’s natural. It’s true. For us she just nailed it – have a look at the quotation on our FB profile.
An undisturbed joy?
With a need for the new there always comes a need for joy. We know it – it is best sustained by a ride on two wheels. We run closer to the singing blackbirds and starlings, we immerse in the tender sunlight and feel joy at every unearned smile from a stranger. Madame “Cycling in spring” is optimistic and pure – sometimes there is not a single pimple on her beautiful face. That’s our wish for you spring AD 2020.

And after winter, in full emotion, it is worth a while blowing the dust off your bike and get to feel the wind touching your hair again. Or rent your vehicle with BikeTrip and set off with a team that will take you on one-day rides in Krakow and full cycling holidays.
For those who still remember their home-shoes, we have an Instagram profile with quality cycling photography and a promise to remember about you on our blog. Be with us this spring 2020.
